The wine
Young red wine with an intense ruby color. On the nose, the notes of ripe red fruit, licorice, Mediterranean herbs and cherries stand out. Elegant, pleasant, concentrated wine with a certain weight on the palate.
The winery
With more than 100 years of history, Celler Masroig maintains the essence and personality of the first day and accompanies it with the knowledge and innovation of the present. Founded in 1917, it is currently one of the benchmarks of the Montsant Designation of Origin, in the Priorat region.
Our goal is to produce a good product without neglecting respect for tradition and showing the character that defines it. We work with persistence and conviction on red clay to transmit the values on which the personality of the winery is based. This soil, predominant in our area, influences the quality of the grape. The light reflected by the red earth on the grapes contributes effectively to the ripening process of the fruit. Garnacha and Cariñena (Mazuela) are the native grape varieties of the area. Although both are protagonists of our territory, at Celler Masroig we understand Cariñena as the basis of our wines. The years feel good to Cariñena, and the older she gets, the more spirit accompanies her. As you get older, you understand that being ambitious is young and with wisdom you learn to better focus on the little details. And it is that what is good, is made to wait.
